The Earth-House ‘House of Fairies’ Tigh an t’sithiche.

Heersht……Heersht……Heersht
Waves stroking sands salt kiss
Peace and tranquillity
I listen as I sink and spin
Hundreds of voices yet every individual word, clear.
I hear a pleasant tinkling sound
Children’s laughter squeals of play
I follow sounds of joy
Across this land so far away.
Fifty Fairies danced
‘The dance of the five circles’

And they turned one each the other way
As each circle spun opposite around
Each fairy did pirouette
And as they twirled and laughed and spun
My heart bereft regret.

Music played from tiny harps
Twang—Twang—Twung---Twong---Twing---Twing
The angelic strings from a golden fleece
I thought, may be from Greece.

And a whistling quartet
Blew pursed lipped horns
Spiral whispering winds
For the stacs to sway on a sunny day
Be the angels’ hearts to sing
I laughed aloud and my feet did tap
‘Twas the magic fairy ring.

We danced round left and we danced round right
Until the moon rose to the stars
And beams of light glowed with delight
‘Twas laughter through a deep dark night.
The fairies kissed and hugged and loved
As they waved to say ‘Farewell’
They all blew stardust from their palms
Towards a ‘wishing-well’.

They lived in tunnels beneath the ground
Fireflies beam a rainbow glow
And through the tunnel was a room
Where a granny sat to sow.

She told secret tales from the edge of time
Of love and loss and greed and lust
Of all the wishes born from love
And the evil people cussed.

I told her of the
‘Fairy—dance’
And the fairy Flag from Skye
She smiled and laughed
And shook her head
For to whisper with a sigh.

I told her of the
‘Fairy---Bridge’
And a love which had to die
And she sat so sad
And bowed her head
As a tear fell from her eye.

I bade farewell
She kissed my cheek
And she wished my journey safe
With sadness in my heart to go
I left somewhere to wait.

Float from the Isle
Dip the moon swoon low
For a starlight path to glow
As a silver road, bridge a golden fold
Where the fairies tales are told.
