Pythagoras
Noble wizard, all in white,
Called an eagle down from flight.
On his hand he bade it sit,
Stroked its head, and ate with
it.
Noble wizard, all in white,
Calmed a bear prepared to bite.
"Brother," he said in its ear,
"Do not chew whilst I am here."
Noble wizard, all in white,
Near a stream both quick and bright,
Passed with neither brag nor fuss.
Stream cried, "Hail, Pythagoras."
